A member of a key committee of the $12 billion California stem cell agency, who is also a San Francisco city official, has been sued in a case involving the disappearance of a human skull and alleged retaliation against a city employee.

David Serrano Sewell, now head of the San Francisco medical examiner’s office, was named in a court filing that said he may “have ‘inexplicably’ tossed the skull while rushing to clean up the office ahead of an inspection,” according to an article yesterday in The San Francisco Standard.
