Lifting Off With the Media, Thinking About Their Starting Points
An LA Times reporter mentions his -- concerning the University of California and the federal research flap
The Los Angeles Times reaches millions of readers every month, and this morning, one of its reporters remarked on the University of California and UCLA’s $1 billion research/antisemitism tussle with the Trump administration.
What the reporter said shed some light on the perspective he brings to his work as he covers the 10-campus system, which has 300,000 students and 265,000 employees.
The reporter is Jaweed Kaleem, who has worked for the Times since 2016. He was interviewed by James Rainey, another reporter at the Times for his (Rainey’s) email newsletter “Essential California.”
During the interview, Kaleem said,
