University of California, Davis stem cell researcher Paul Knoepfler has a new gig.

It is called Lab Dish, and the column appears on the well-respected STAT online biomedical news site. For those unfamiliar with Knoepler, he began blogging about stem cells in 2009 on his site, “The Niche.”

He has made news along the way with his reporting, especially dealing with rogue stem cell clinics.

He is now regularly called by mainstream media reporters for comments on stem cell affairs and has produced books ranging from “Stem Cells: An Insider’s Guide” to “How To Build A Dragon Or Die Trying: A Satirical Look At Cutting-Edge Science, which he wrote with his daughter, Julie Knoepfler.

“I wasn’t sure how my academic peers would view (my blogging).
