Blindness and brain cancer are among the targets of the research
SAN DIEGO — Ten California scientists scooped up $28.5 million in research awards last week, including a $6 million award for a preclinical project aimed at slowing the progression of age-related macular degeneration.
Another 116 researchers were not so fortunate.
